Please tell me what items can be migrated to ThirdEye using the snmpc migration tool.

Modified on Wed, Oct 15 at 11:33 AM

The data that can be migrated to ThirdEye varies depending on whether or not the migration tool has the "--inventory-only" option.

Option available: Only device information and map information will be migrated.

No option: Some event filters and Get community names will also be migrated.

Example) Option: Yes

 3eye-snmpc-import-exe --inventory-only <3eye-host> <3eye-user> <3eye-password>

The items that can be transferred from "snmpc to Thirdeye" are as follows, depending on whether or not options are installed.

[common]

-----------------------------------------

・"Name (Label Name)" → Move to "Custom 1" in the Device tab

・"Description" → "Notes" in the device tab

・"Group 1" → Move to "Device Tag" in the Device tab

・"Group 2" → Move to "Device Tag" in the Device tab

・Go to "Custom 2" in the "Parent" → Device tab

・Go to "Icon" → "On Map" in the Map tab

  [Note 1]

*Only device (device-to-device) link lines and subnets can be migrated.

・"Bitmap" → Go to Bitmap (background) in the Map tab

[Option: None only]

----------------------------------------------------

・"Get Community" → "public" is dynamic credential. All other credentials will be static credential.

・Event filter → Monitor (with conditions)

: Only for devices with ICMP Ping configured

ICMP Ping for each device → ICMP Ping monitor for each device (settings cannot be transferred)

    [Note 2]

The Get community will not be migrated to devices that have ICMP PING configured.

: Only if a device is set in the Matches tab of the Event Filter

Event filter for individual devices -> Monitor individual devices

    [Note 3]

*Monitors (monitoring rules) are applied to individual devices, so to delete or change the settings of a monitor,

You will need to do this for each individual device.

It is not possible to manage all monitors at once using monitor sets (containers for monitors), which is a feature of ThirdEye.

*Event filters (monitoring rules) can only be migrated for devices that are individually registered in the matching conditions of the event filter.

Monitors (monitoring rules) will not be migrated.

From [Note 2] and [Note 3],

Due to the ease of construction after migration and the ease of managing monitoring rules (monitors),

We recommend migrating with the option enabled.
